This mission church is located in Bayside, halfway between Saint Michael’s Basilica in Chatham, Miramichi, and Escuminac. The church was blessed by Bishop James Rogers in autumn 1901. In 1914, steeple jacks from St. Louis constructed a steeple. In 1926, a sacristy was added. On February 27, 1995, Bishop J. Edward Troy dedicated the new church hall in memory of Father Tom MacDonald. On September 2, 2001, Saint Michael’s parishioners gathered to celebrate the centennial of the quaint little mission church and the deep faith of those who live in Bayside.
